Omar Amer is a serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Amer Group, one of Egypt’s largest and most diversified real estate and hospitality developers. With a proven track record across multiple industries, he leads ventures in hospitality, real estate development, timeshare, and digital finance.
As the founder of Amenli, Egypt’s leading digital insurance platform, and Qasatli, a pioneering digital mortgage and home finance provider, Omar is reshaping access to essential financial services across the region. Through Amer Group, he has helped deliver over 15,000 residential units, operate more than 3,000 hotel rooms, and serve over 22,000 timeshare members.
Omar continues to expand his ventures regionally, while Amer Group is publicly listed on both the Egyptian and London Stock Exchanges.
Since co-founding Amer Group in 2006, Omar Amer has played a pivotal role in its rise to becoming one of the Middle East’s leading developers. He began his journey by leading Sales and Marketing, swiftly positioning Amer Group as Egypt’s highest-grossing real estate developer within its first two years.
In 2010, Omar became Group CEO, orchestrating several landmark achievements: listing the company on the stock exchange, raising over $300 million in capital, issuing Egypt’s first securitization bond, and expanding operations into four new international markets.
Beyond Amer Group, Omar founded Amenli, Egypt’s first digital insurance provider, and Qasatli, an innovative mortgage platform making home ownership more accessible across the region.
Omar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo, where he also spent a year at the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to complete his MBA at Harvard Business School and earned a PhD in Islamic Finance from AIU (Atlantic International University) in Florida. He currently chairs or serves on 12 boards globally, spanning industries from real estate to fintech.
